Legislator and state highway engineer; Maddock came to Arizona in 1898 and was elected to the legislature from Coconino County in 1912. He became highway engineer in 1917, served as a member of the Colorado River Commission, and then was general manager of the Gila Valley Irrigation District at Safford from 1939 to 1967. He was state chairman of the Arizona Republican Party and ran unsuccessful campaigns for senator and governor in the 1920s. From the description of Maddock papers, 1...
